The artwork on the cover is reminiscent of concert posters from Cream, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, The Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane.
The 2nd track on this CD, Love Machine, starts with a mean bass line and a bluesy guitar riff with percussion pulverizing its way to a wrecking ball of vocals. This mission will task you with collecting five journal ECHOs that will reveal more about Handsome Jack. Listening to this tune is parallel to hearing AC/DC jam with Cream.īlood, the 4th track is a classic in your face anthem.
All five will be in the two Arid Nexus areas, with two being in Badlands and the other three being in Boneyard. All of them are pretty easy to get to, but you want to be careful about going out of bounds with the one in the south in Boneyard. Musically, you can catch influences such as Black Sabbath and Jimi Hendrix. The title track, Heat Seeker, is a down South blues monument. There is a brazen raunchy element that is to be admired in percussion, twin guitars and vocals when you hear: “Better watch out tonight. “ The four of them are collective, unabashed and intoxicating. This one will get you hopping onstage to join the guys in shooting this tune out and over the heads of everyone on the floor.īrown Water is a wicked little ditty with acoustics and harmonization. This is a tune about heartbreak, drinking and being down in the dirt. They have played Buffalo to Boston to Texas. Catch them on You Tube and you will see what I mean.

Mildly entertaining considering it was "free" if you will, but I have to wonder the original intent of this, and why so many A-list actors - almost as if they "lost" some bet/lawsuit and settled by all doing a silly movie that cost them a weeks time.Handsome Jack is breathing life back into music.
Why? Were they supposed to be integral to the story? And Detective Scozzari - why did she start a relationship with the Fireworks guy? Did her character offer us anything besides that single item? Every time they met, she went and did him? What else did she bring to the table? Could I have written this with some buddies in a hot tub while drinking beer? Nah, we would have done better. They even came to the crime scene with us - never to be hear from again.
Why is this even part of the conversation? Also in that first scene we got to know a class of Detective wanna-be's. At the start, the Lt badgered Handsome three times about not signing his retirement papers, but we know nothing of him needing to retire or him ever speaking of his fear of retirement. Clocking in at only 1:20, I wonder if they wrote/filmed these "missing pieces" but left them on the cutting room floor perhaps. I wanted to love this movie, I love both Jeff Garlin and Natasha Lyonne, but it just didn't make sense.
